I've built from scratch a B2B marketplace, designed to fix the highly fragmented and inefficient auto parts supply chain in Latin America. The platform served customers such as automotive repair shops and insurance companies, saving them critical time and resources.

My Role
Lead Platform Architect & Product Strategist
As a foundational member of the team, my role was a hybrid of hands-on technical leadership and high-level product strategy. I was entrusted with the challenge of building the company's entire digital ecosystem from the ground up while working in lockstep with the founders to shape the business model, validate the product-market fit, and prepare for future funding rounds.
The Challenge
The automotive aftermarket in Latin America is plagued by systemic issues:
- Extreme Fragmentation: Buyers must contact numerous suppliers to find the right parts, leading to massive inefficiencies.
- Lack of Standardization: The absence of a unified parts catalog results in high rates of incorrect orders, returns, and project delays.
- Price Opacity: A long chain of intermediaries inflates costs and reduces transparency for the end buyer.
- Revenue Loss for Mechanics: Workshops were losing their traditional revenue from parts sales as customers turned to online consumer marketplaces.
Our goal was to solve these problems by creating a centralized, data-driven platform that would become the definitive B2B solution for sourcing and purchasing auto parts.
My Contribution & The Solution
I architected and developed the technology stack, turning the business vision into a functional product. My key contributions included:
Full-Stack Product Development
I built the entire platform from zero, including:
- A cross-platform mobile application in Flutter for mechanics in the field.
- A responsive web for marketing to attract new auto repair shops.
- The backend infrastructure, including APIs to handle business logic, user management, and order processing.
The Centralized Catalog & Supplier Integration
The core of the platform's value lies in its data. I engineered the system to:
- Build and manage a curated product catalog of over 100,000 SKUs, with a proprietary data structure that accurately maps parts to specific vehicle models, a critical differentiator in the market.
- Develop integrations with multiple suppliers' systems to synchronize stock levels and pricing in real-time, ensuring data accuracy for our clients.
- Implement an algorithm to provide customers with the optimal price based on their geographic location and supplier availability.
Business & Operations Enablement
I developed features that powered the business model:
- Payment Gateway Integration: I connected the platform with MercadoPago, enabling seamless and flexible payment options for both workshops and their end-customers.
- Internal Management Tools: I created a suite of internal dashboards for managing the product catalog, monitoring inventory, and overseeing operations, which was essential for a non-inventory business model.
Strategic & Leadership Role
My involvement went beyond code. I was a key partner to the founding team in:
- Product Strategy & Fundraising: Helping shape the roadmap, define features, and contribute to the creation of the investor deck.
- Team Building: Actively participating in the hiring, interviewing, and onboarding process for new technical talent to scale the team.
- Product Validation: Engaging directly with early clients, including major insurance companies and workshops, to gather feedback and iterate on the product.
